Windows 7 Demise

13 Jan 2020

You may have heard in the world of Tech that Windows 7 is soon to be nearing the end of its life!

Released in July 2009, less than three years after the release of Windows Vista; Windows 7 is soon to reach the end of its life on the 14th January. After this date, the operation system will no longer be supported by Microsoft as Windows 10 looks to be the main focus going into the new decade.

Whilst it is clear from Microsoft that Windows 7 will still be able to run on your computer after the 14th, it does mean that they will no longer be issuing patches or fixes via Windows Update for it, along with providing technical assistance, meaning that your PC won’t be as secure as it is today.

More information on this can be found out by visiting www.microsoft.com/windows7

Microsoft state that the transition to Windows 10 hasn’t been simpler and that this website has been designed to assist and give guidance with transferring data to a new PC along with advice on choosing a new device and getting up to speed with the new version of Windows. It is worth doing some research on various deals. For example, HP are offering a trade up of up to £275 for your old machine when traded in towards a new device.
