I’ve been an apprentice at Integrated Ideas for a little over a year now as a junior web developer and it’s been a great experience. I already feel like I’ve got the knowledge and confidence to take the next step in my career. Fortunately for me they’ve allowed me to take that next step with them!
My co-workers have been very kind and patient with me, as I came into the apprenticeship never having worked on a website. Learning all about website development has been eye-opening and a great experience. I’ve been fortunate to play a large role in creating a numbers of websites during my apprenticeship and it’s true what they say: with every website comes a new challenge. This keeps my job fresh and exciting, which only makes things more enjoyable.
I’ve always loved computers and most of my hobbies include using websites or applications that have come in handy working at Integrated Ideas. When I was younger I loved using Photoshop, editing photos and creating graphics for fun. The skills I learned doing this turned out to be applicable to my new role, as I’m able to interpret websites from a design point of view, which makes building frameworks much easier.
Integrated Ideas showed me that being a small agency doesn’t necessarily mean the projects are small; I came into Integrated Ideas with preconceived notions of a small company doing websites for local businesses. That’s only a small piece of the puzzle though. Since joining the team, I’ve worked on websites for huge property developments in London through to Michelin star-run restaurants in Dubai.
With all this said I am very much looking forward to continue working at Integrated Ideas, continue improving my skills as a web developer and continue working with the best team of people I’ve had the pleasure of being involved with. I’m very excited to begin my career at Integrated Ideas.
An apprenticeship is a fantastic way to enter into the working world. It allowed me to earn money whilst giving me the necessary work ethic and education I needed to begin my career. Once a week I went to Cameo Training where I was able to focus purely on education and earning my qualifications in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms professionals.
This is National Apprenticeship Week 2017. Let’s help others to achieve and succeed just like I have.
